Saint James shares a church building with Good Shepherd Lutheran Church

We are Safe Church compliant

St James subscribes to the Episcopal Diocese’s Safe Church Policy for the protection of children and youth, elders, and vulnerable adults. The complete policy is available at the Diocesan website.

For children and youth: all individuals who teach Sunday School or head Youth Groups must pass background checks by an organization selected by the Diocese. All individuals ministering to children must complete the Safe Church Training Course (contact the church office for information.)

All events involving children (under age 12)  and youth (those under the age of 18 or 18 and still in high school ) must include at least two unrelated adults.  Children being driven to a church related event must be in a car that includes unrelated adults. No adult is to engage with a child without the presence of another unrelated adult or adult group (such as at coffee hour).

When children are not in Sunday School on Sunday morning, parents are responsible for the safety of their children.

Our COVID Precautions

All worshipers are encouraged to wear masks, however it is not required. Hand sanitizer is available in the narthex and in the aisle for those wishing to use it before Holy Eucharist.  Wafers are dropped into communicant’s hand without physical contact, and wine is distributed in individual plastic cups at the altar with discard baskets available.

Welcome to St. James Episcopal Church

We are a welcoming and inclusive community. Come and join us! A few years ago, we moved in with Good Shepherd Lutheran Church on Parade Road in Laconia. Not only do we share a building, but we also share a Pastor, education, and outreach to the community. Young children will feel at home with us as well as retirees and all in between! We don’t take ourselves too seriously and we are most joyful when we can be in service to others.  Come with an open mind and heart and you may be surprised how God may touch you. God has done amazing things in our midst!

Hope to see you in church!

Our Mission

Saint James is a welcoming community striving to share God’s love with all, through worship, fellowship and service.
